I have a 10gal tank that I'm wanting to set up. I got it used. How do I clean it out? I don't think I'm supposed to use any soap or bleach? Or am I? Thanks!

I would wipe it down with white vinager, then use plain water. Vinager is a great cleaner/disenfectent and doesn't leave any residue behind.

Thanks, that's great! I actually use vin/water for all my household cleaning, only have an oxygen bleach for my husbands laundry. So I feel much better that I can use that. :)

Just be sure to read the articles on how to cycle, with or without fish (links below) when you are setting up. If you are unsure on what to put inside it then feel free to ask, but remember research is the key to fish keeping. Many people make the mistakes of not researching before they buy and most of the time pay the price!

I use vinager to clean with too. I try not to use chemicals if I can help it. I also use it to clean the glass on the tanks once they are set up and running.
