Any chance of putting a 240G tank on a 2nd floor condo. IT is a sturdy concrete slab floor but still concerns me. I have had a 150G with no problems. The 240 though would be over 3000 lbs. I'm only even considering it cuz I can get a ridiculous deal on one. Any ideas??? If not I'm thinking about getting it and just storing it in my garage for another day

id say no. If that baby ever went down, you would have major water damage and some pi$$ed people on the first floor. After time, the weight REALLY stresses the floor, even if theres no symptoms right away. I had my 33g on hardwood for 3 years, and when i ripped it down the hardwood was dented in from stress

Is it a new construction condo or one of the renovated factory/warehouse buildings? Most of the new condos in my area are renovated factories - the steel beam supporting the floors in those old buildings are 2-3 feet thick. They were built to drive forktrucks on and support machines made out of cast iron.
Any new building designed to be a residence is likely to be made of far less sturdy materials.
You may be able to find out for sure about the specs on the floors from a maintenance guy or the real estate company that sells the condos. The condo association would probably tell you you can't have a tank unless your fish match everyone else's fish.
