unfortunate story

I decided after much debate that I wanted 2 powder blue dwarfs for my 40 gal tropical. I went to all the fish stores within 3 cities and after finding almost all of them had few, very sickly looking powder blues. I finally found a large group of healthy looking ones at my last stop. They must have just come in recently (this was maybe 3 weeks ago) I went back to the same store and they had 3 left that looked terrible. All dark, piping and one was almost black on his topside. And from what it looks like one of the two I bought has Iridovirus. I am having a very hard time find any of the species Im looking for in healthy condition. this sucks. can anyone recommend a online store that they have experience with?

well that was quick. the gourami that I suspected of having iridovirus was sitting on the bottom of the tank dead. his stomach looked bloated and his coloring was darker. has anyone returned fish before? Does anyone know of any universities that are studying this issue that I could sent it to?

Yup! Live Aquaria is the best! The price of the shipping is worth it! They pack the fish VERY well! The healthiest fish I have ever owned have come from live aquaria. Never got anything but a perfect fish from there.

I haven't heard of any new studies for Iridovirus in Gouramis in almost ten years. If YOU find one, you should contact ME. :lol:

As for a reputable seller of Dwarf Gouramis, you'd have to know exactly how they crowd their fish and who bred their fish.
