View Full Version : pleco ID help (pic pending)

I will post a picture once he comes out of hiding. I have no idea what type he is but I will try to describe him to you as easily as possible. He doesn't have a long flowy tail or anything sort of the body type of a common pleco. He is dark in color, no fancy pattern on the body... but his dorsal fin and his tail fin are lined on along the top edges with a bright orange (blood parrot orange color) leopard pattern.

Any ideas?

Several ideas, but will wait for your photo for an ID of your fish.

Yeah, sounds like a mango, but mangos are generally yellow striped fins. Need a pic.

Sounds like a three beacon pleco to me, Leporacanthicus triactis, L091. They can vary from black to brown depending on their mood, age and gender.
