What's this fish called?

My dad used to have this catfish that looked like a Pictus cat in his tank. He called them "Cat Shark" as he did not know the common name. It has large Barbels, is a catfish but looked a little like a shark. What's it called? I was told they get up to 6 or 8 inches, but his never did because the Oscar in his tank tried to eat it and chased it out of the tank, so it died and was discovered hours later. This was a long time ago, so I don't have a pic. What's its common name, just for curiosity?

Just a shape like one. I don't think it really looks like a synodontis, just kind of.

LOL! And to the other reply, I AM ABSOLUTELY sure it was not a Pictus. He also had a Pictus, which he also lost due to the Oscar (Same with the other small aggressive fish that.. never grew due to a short life!)
