I bought the Bristelnose Pleco for my 20g Crayfish tank to clean up the really bad alge, but it did not workout so I have it in my 20g Havily plated(13 plants total) with Shrimp, Frogs, Clams, snail and now a Pleco. I never really like Pleco, but now I am really starting to love them. are there any type of Pleco that go whell in a 20g? Maybe I could start a 20g Pleco tank?

a dwarf one would work. My clown pleco stayed small

Check out that post for a list of plecos that stay small, that will start you out.

My rubberlip stopped at about 3". They can get a little larger, so that may be a good one. They are cheap at Petsmart and come in slightly varying colorations.

I keep a common pleco in a 20 gallon. No problem so far, put in a while I'll have to move him before he gets too large. Aren't plecos territorial toward each other? If they are, I don't think you could have a pleco tank in a 20 gallon unless in it heavily planted.

Some are. Gold nuggets are supposed to be real bad, but so far no problems with mine in the 40 with one or two rubber lip plecos and a number of other bottom feeders.
