How do you tell the difference between a male and female Black-Fin Shark? We would like to know before we go in to buy some. :help: I made a mistake, it's black-fin not black tip!

You mean the giant saltwater ones?
Or do you mean bala sharks?

I meant the Bala Sharks. I'm not crazy enough to buy the giant salt water Black Tips! thumbs2:
I don't know, you'd be VERY surprised at what we see on this forum with new people, but very glad to hear you are not going to buy something that could eat you for lunch. However, I hope you understand that they get upwards of a foot long and need a lot of space to be happy. I wouldn't go with less than a 125 gallon tank for a pair along with some tankmates.
There is no way to determine sex with a bala shark unless you are in breeding season, when the females are a little more plump than the males.

Actually, I was totally mistaken. I fianally found what fish I was looking for. It's not bala sharks and not black tip sharks. I found it looking under different catfish species. It's name is actually...Black-Fin Sharks!! :19:
