My grandmother's female platy is, without a doubt, pregnant AGAIN. Tonight I go to her house and find the breeding trap in the tank, but no fish in it. So I asked her, and she was trying to catch the mom and put her in the breeding trap because she's convinced the platy's gonna pop! So, I reassured her that the platy probably won't give birth anytime soon just to keep her quiet. :P

I took pictures, but you can't really see her size and the color of her stomach to tell. She looks almost exactly like this, size wise, red belly wise, everything:

Should I put her in the breeding trap? I really hate the size of the breeding trap so I don't want her in there any longer than she has to be. We found the first fry on the 16th of January, so that makes almost 4 weeks I think, so it should be soon?

That is great you can see the fry's eyes lining up to be released. It should be in the next week.

Thank you! Yes, I can see the fry in there, although she moves too quick for me to make out any eyes.

i move my pegg fish to the crip when they start to hide and stop swimming around. it's like labor to me. i'm new to just my opinion..

If she's one who hides when labor is about to begin, put her in then.

Edit: Just saw how old this was. Regardless, pregnancy will likely happen again, so my opinion's relevant anyways. Ah well.
