Does anyone on here have an Avacado Puffer? I saw one at our local store today. I had never seen them before. Came home, did some research (not a whole bunch of information out there on these fish), went back to the store to get more information from them and ended up bringing one home. I think they are a nice looking fish.

They are very cool little puffers. I would love to have one but I don't have the room to set up another tank at the moment. From what I can gather they are freshwater and get to around four inches. A LFS has had two in a planted 30 for at least six months now that are close to three inches each. Thou one always has some bites out of it. I would not mix these with any fish. Make sure to feed snails to keep the beak worn down.

I had asked about the snails at the store. Their supplier had not told them anything about giving them snails (I had read about it on the net when I was researching them). They were contacting their supplier as it is something they had not heard and need to know if they are selling these fish.

Here are some photos of the new fish

They're fun, but they are quite nasty sometimes towards tankmates. :22:

Absolutely adorable. I've always been a fan of puffers since I was a little kid. Good luck with him!
