Just curious what all the O owners keep with their O's for tankmates. Please post the following:
1. Tank Size
2. Number and size of Oscars
3. Tankmates + size and number.
4. How long you have had them together.

Currently a custom 80g
Two 11" oscars
One 6" jack dempsey
One 12" common pleco
They have been together for over a year. Soon are going into a 120g.

I have an oscar in my tank with another oscar and a hi fin pleco.
I was going to add some severums (and I still might if I can find some large enough).
There is never any aggression between the 3.Its been almost 2 yrs and its a 135gal tank. All 3 are at least 12"
Silver dollars, severums, giant danios, some JDs,giant gourami, there are many options but I strongly suggest starting out with juvies in the grow out tank.
I once saw an oscar living peacefully with two angel fish. They were full grown too.
That was a 200gal tank.

I had Tinfoil barbs...10-11" each and a 10" Black Shark living with mine in a 150G tank. They had all been together for around 6 years and still would be if they hadnt fallen victim to a poweroutage. Black Sharks are a fish that I think anyone with a large tank should own once...they are very personable fish and can definatly hold their own with Oscars.

They are slow growing, I have considered buying another when I find one large enough as well. So you will rarely find big ones brought back in the LFS from customers as they simply dont survive long enough to outgrow their tanks, in most incapable peoples hands. They get killed before they have time to grow.

Ray, I'm not looking for suggestions, I'm just checking to see what others have. I read Jenn's write-up a long time ago. ;)

lol OK!
If there are enough O's here it will make a good compatibility thread!
I also thought you still had a large tank to stock.lol

1. 150, the number to the left will go up eventually to maybe a 500 or more.
2. Only one at the moment, about 9 or 10 inches.
3. Ooh boy, here comes the fun! :hmm3grin2orange: Tankmates: Six tinfoils, three at about six or seven inches, three at four maybe five, three clown loaches, about three inches, one JD, not too far behind my O's size, one severum, little smaller than JD, one BGK, about four inches, one sun cat, 4 inches, one syno eupterus, about five inches, one CAE, not too big, maybe three inches, and two plecos, about seven inches each.
4. At least a year with the O, and at least six months with all the fish living peacefully together. :22:
