I'm afraid my plants are going to come in a bit early. Ordered them from Mikeswetpets on ebay and according to him they'll be here Thursday or Friday. Can I float them in the tank until Saturday when I start the rescape??
Also, I've got some serious algae trying to crop up again and since it seems I'm down to 3 otocinclus I need to get it back under control myself. Poor guys just can't keep up. Can I treat my currently infected plants with hydrogen peroxide while I have them out of the water? What would be the best way to do that?
:help:

What kind of plants is it and what kind of algae do you have? I would definatly look into some Excel(unless of course you have vals) as it will really keep algae down. Also consider a split photoperiod, it doesnt bother plants but simple life forms like algae dont do well with the 2 short light sessions per day. Try 4hrs on 3hrs off 4hrs on....then move to 5hrs on 4hrs off 5hrs on.

It's THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260505480811&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT) mixed pack from ebay. So there's a bit of everything.
I do also have the 29 gallon that I can put plants in temporarily and that might be where some go while I'm doing the actually scaping.
The BBA that I thought I had started scrubbing out is coming back with a vengeance. The good news with it is that the rocks and the silk plants that are covered in it will not be going back in the tank. But I do have it along with just a green algae on the plants. Hoping I can kill it off enough that I can control it.
The plant pack does have some vals in it so I'll have to watch the excel dosing. Funny actually since I had just bought a new big bottle of it last time I was out in Denver. LOL
I'll have to try the split photo period. Should be easy enough with the timers I have. Funny that I don't have any algae problems in either of the other tanks. Not that the 29g has enough going on to cause algae. :hmm3grin2orange:

Id just remove effected leaves and do a peroxide dip on the others...you could also do a strong Excel dip on the effected plants. As far as the decor going back in bleach will definatly get rid of it. :22:

Thanks Jenn. I'm really excited about getting this done. Hopefully I'll keep everything alive and growing. Including the fish. LOL

Should be fine, plants floating around in a tank for a day or so wont bother them. Fish will be fine as well...best of luck and post us lots of pics :22:

Not that I need to, but I can vouch for the broken photo period to control algae. Works on my tanks. thumbs2:

Thanks Taurus. I think I'll reset the timer this weekend when I rescape it.
