I have an empty 22 gallon, and i want to put in 1 black moor goldfish, but i dont know any coldwater tankmates, or what filter. Any suggestions?

AquaClear 50. Not much for tankmates, that tank is barely big enough for the moor. You could do a dojo for cleanup. White clouds may work.

I When i make the huge room in our basement my bed/fish room, my room will be 5 feet away from a tap, so i plan on doing biweekly 50% water changes. Will that be enough?

I would do them at least weekly.

Twice a week would be semi-weekly. Bi-weekly is every two weeks.

...water changes sound fine...with good filtration I don't think you need to do more than 1 change a week...

...and I agree with the dojo and/or the white clouds...

So, i so far need:

1x hood
1x DIY python
1x new bottle of ammonia
1x new ammonia/nitrite test kits
1x black moor
3x white clouds
1x dojo

Jeez this stuff adds up quick!

Sounds good...

...alternately...with adequate filtration and those weekly water changes...you could have 2 goldfish...it's not the best but I think they'd be just fine...

Well, i was hoping that the goldfish would be the "centerpeice" of the tank, if you will. I would rather have one and more dither fish, but ill be content with the 3 white clouds and 1 dojo. At least...for now :ezpi_wink1:

I just upgraded my goldfish tank from 10gal to 20gal. I currently only have a redcap oranda and a golden mystery snail. They've been getting along for months. A snail will not overshadow your goldfish.

You know, the butterfly/hillsteam loach clan does better in cooler tanks, though they prefer more current than the goldfish does. Regardless, they are a possible tankmate.

Actually Fishguy bi-weekly does mean twice a week, But for some reason it's confused as meaning once every two weeks.

I'm not sure about the white clouds though. I kept goldfish with white clouds for a while. I had 5 WCs with a goldfish and they stayed in a corner until the gold died.

Sorry, but bi-weekly is every two weeks, just like a bi-monthly magazine is published every two months. Twice per week is semi-weekly. Twice per year is semi-annual.
