ie. put picture on my website???

i only done this once before,and do not remeber how. i down loaded some pictures to my computer, that was easy.But how do i then get them to my website??? i am useing window 98. just rember you dealing with someone who know nothing , when it come to computer, so give goods details. i feel like taking the sleghammer to it, but i better not do that, i guess.!! so someone ,help!!
