Well after a year of waiting it finally happened. I woke up this morning and found about 200 eggs!! Now I'm just trying to figure out what to do with them. lol

Whole lot of eggs!!

Dad... "Beast"

Mom... "Guss" (guess she's not a male after all...lol)

so now I'm trying to decide if I should leave them where they are or move the whole plant to a seperate tank. Mom and dad seem to be doing a good job so far but it's their first spawn. Plus the other Angels in the tank... I have a divider so I might just use that and seperate mom, dad, and eggs from the rest of the tank and just leave their plant alone.
This is my first spawn too so any thoughts and suggestions are more then welcome!

Thanks everyone!

Well mom and seem to have some learning to do. They've eaten most of the eggs... there were a fair amouint of white eggs as of midnight last night. There are about 30 left... so I guess I'll just let nature go and see what happens. At least one suriver would be nice though. lol.

I ddi put the divider in the tank last night though. I wonder if I ticked them off with that. They didn't seem spooked at all though. Probably doesn't help its a high traffic room either... I do have a 10g hanging around. I might take the plant and drop it in there with a sponge filter and see what happens.

Funny story I have to share though...
The kids were a bit bummed when they saw the eggs and the youngest (7) asked why they ate them. The oldest (12... probably wont see 13...lol) says they must have been bad... thats how Angel parents punish their kids... they eat them. Without skipping a beat... he looks at my son and replies 'you must be really happy your dad isn't an Angel fish then huh? He would have eaten you years ago.'
I almost feel over. My son was livid... :hmm3grin2orange:

Give them time, its very common that Angels will eat the first few spawns as they are still young (specially at looking at the photos!) and very inexperienced. They'll get it in time, but good luck with your next batch :)
