hey all.

right now i have some nubia plants and they are doing really well with my not so bright lighting set up. so, i recently purchased a small thing of kyoto grass plants.

can it grow with the same light as nubias or does it require more light? will it attach to gravel like the nubias?

Kyoto grass (aka mondo grass) is not an aquatic plant. Some folks can keep it going for up to 6 months or so with new shoots coming out of the dead ones, but since its not aquatic it does die and rot eventually.

It's great for a terrarium where the roots can get constant water (which it likes) but the leaves not submerged (which it hates).

I learned this one the semi-hard way, heh.

other than anubias, are there any low light aquatic plants that i could add to my tank that dont require CO2, and that can attach themselves to gravel?

Java fern and java moss are low light plants that shouldn't be planted in the substrate. There are also many varieties of both anubias and java fern.

This is what I have in my 10g that has 2wpg of light: java fern, java moss, guppy grass, amazon sword, cryptocorne, moneywort, moneywort, anubius, and hornwort.

I have Java Fern, 3 types of Anubius, Crypts and some other plant I forgot the name of with very small gravel and .6 watts per gallon of lighting. Plants seem to do ok.
