Anybody ever have these? How well would they work in a community type tank like my 55 gallon?

Shrimp are generally best kept in their own tank, particularly if you want them to breed. Longarm shrimp are similar to crayfish, and will eat small fish if they can catch them. On the other hand, shrimp of any type need cover when they molt. Regardless of their size they can be picked apart by even small fish before their new exoskeleton hardens.
