Very nice pictures!
The boyfriend is internally debating on if he wants a hermit crab or not. I'm rather dubious, as I've heard / read that they require a lot of specialized care.
I may pick your brain about these little guys tho!

Nice hermit crabs i could never get mine to live too long.
Excellent photos!thumbs2:
We did everything 'right' as well, and couldn't keep ours alive. I'm thinking I just couldn't keep the humidity right...
...but at the time I used sand...now I'd try the coconut, might be better at retaining and holding the humidity levels constant...

Thanks to everyone! They can be hard to take care of... I use to have 6 but now only have 4.... The 4 are doing well though. I have had them for over a year.

I really loved the little hermit crabs I brought back from the beach- the last one recently died just before Christmas. They were alive for over 4 months (since Aug.) so thats longer than any I've had before!!

Ya well I think the reason they die so easy is because they are taken from the wild and obviously no one can replicate exactly how the lived there, so they probably get stressed and die.
