I would do about 15 neons for the middle of the tank along with some corydoras like peppered or albino for the bottome about 8 or so and maybe a pearl for a centerpiece that would be my stocking. maybe 4 ottos cats for algae control.

danios, barbs, are active

do you want larger groups of small fish or a few med-lg?

Research in the left lower menu and google will help

Ok well, what about the corydoras and some sunset platies about 6 2m and
4f. I also would do a dwarf gourami for color and they are active too.

I agree with Padams, consider / research Danios and Barbs. I had them in the past. Very active and hardy fish.

You will have to research them a bit more to find what fit you requirements.

Danios Barbs and Corys are really active. Teras can be active too.
This is what I would do:
12 Tiger Barbs
7 Corrys
How does that sound?

In my last 30 gal tank I had sailfin mollys. Not a shy fish at all. I had a lot of luck with these fish. Just keep a few more females than males. I would suggest 4 females and three males. You should also look at a smaller pleco, like a bristel nose pleco. Plecos can be very shy and might not be as active as what your lokking for

You should be able find a lot of info on both fish in this forum to make sure their the right fish for you.

I hope this helps

Please keep us posted
