Dwarf onion plant

I recently bought a Dwarf onion (Zephyranthes candida) plant from the LFS and I was wondering if anyone has had any good or bad experiences with this plant. When I did a little research on it, I found out that it is actually a lily and seems to be a bog plant. If that is so, will it eventually start rotting underwater?

The one I have seems to do fine, and has even split bulbs a few timew. But of course this could always be a different plant going by the same name,
