Diy metal halide????

Has anyone ever experimented with some metal halide flood lights? Home depot has them for $80 each and I was thinking about adding some inside my canopy.

Haven't looked into those, wasn't sure if they were complete options. Meaning I wasn't sure if they included the ignitors and ballasts. I was looking at kits made for cars since I could pick up a set for about 30 bucks, then use a 12V power supply to get them rocking. Seemed like a really inexpensive way to get a lot of light but I ended up using compact flourescent bulbs and spare bulb receptacles I had.
