i was down to three from 5 untill this mourning. I have a 55 gallon tank and feed them everyday. I woke up this mournig to a slaughter. I even feed them at 1:30am the night before. Im down to two, can i stop this carnage? Anyone have anything for me? Oh ya they are pretty big a probable the size of a avg. middle schoold kids fist.

Thats waaay too small a tank for them.

What are your nitrates/nitrites/ammonia levels?

I can't understand why anyone would want such a fish. But, since they are strong meat eaters, possibly they are not getting enough meat in their diets. They will stalk at night and kill the weakest amount them.

Here's a couple reads of them if interested but you may have to feed a heavy meat diet at night. I doubt it will help, however. very easy to trap and kill their prey in a fish tank.

they seem as if they want to hunt what are you feeding them? try putting in a bunch of feeders they will hunt and eat them and the ones that they dont eat will give them something other than eachother to chase
