Edit: Or, since I'm from Newfoundland with quite a lot of Irish blood and accent mixed in there as well, sometimes the T just gets left out completely. =P

All I know for sure is that it's not "Plate-ee."

Edit of the edit: Now that I look at it however, in the dictionary, it's listed as "play-tee."

So just call it whatever the carp you want. =P

Well the reason I ask is because my friend thinks its plate-ee and was telling me plate-ee not plat-ee everytime I said it.

This has been bothering me for such a long time. I always say plah-tee for play-tee sounds right. I will always just say pla-tee though :)
