Hi guys - need a little input here. My friend has gone on holiday for a couple of weeks and asked me to look after his tank - noticed last night while doing a water change that one of the rams is looking exceptionally gaunt. Did cooler water change to combat current heatwave, the other two don't appear to be affected but this little guy doesn't appear to want to eat very much... otherwise active and even feisty but not eating and getting really skinny.

And I don't want to have to explain to my friend that one of his fish died under my care!

So - we have no peas, which we know they love... what other veg can they happily and safely eat? Green beans maybe? There's no spirulina wafers in the house - and I'm broke so I can't get brine shrimp for them :(
So far he's rejecting Sera Flora flake and Spectrum cichlid pellets

If he isn't eating then he probably won't eat pea's either and they are only necessary if a fish is bloated. This fish can not be bloated if it's not even eating.

Water temps should only be changed a bit at a time. If you suddenly drop a temp 10 degrees, you could throw the fish into shock and kill it. Make sure you don't over feed, use dechlorinator with your water changes and hopefully this fish will make it.
