I am going to be getting a 20 gallon tank for free from a friend with the whole set-up except for the heater and gravel. I'm thinking after it is fully cycled stocking with:

6 Panda Corys
6 Cardinal Tetras
6 Zebra Danios
1 Pearl Gourami
1 Mystery Snail

This is just a random type thought... I'm looking for colorful, fun fish and fish that dwell at different levels of the aquarium. Also I'm only going to have artificial plants. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, including different types of fish not listed here or different numbers. Thanks!

What you have sounds great to me! I just got some panda corrys myself and they are great. If it was me I would replace the pearl gourami with a dwarf gourami!! Maybe you could try some type of dwarf pleco?? (Rubber, Bushy Nose, or Clown) Also if it was me I would not get the zebra danios and instead get 10 cardinals.

Looks good. Unless you are really hung up on the danios, how about 12 cardinal tetras? I find that fewer species in larger quantities looks better.

Okay I know the store here has the dwarf flame gourami and the dwarf powder blue. Could I add the dwarf Pleco in addition to the cories? I will probably get more cardinal tetras as the danios were just a thought. I think it would be neat to see a large school of fish together.

Could I also add some cherry red or ghost shrimp? Or would they be dinner for sure with the gourami?
