Hi! i was browsing online for fish forums and found this one and a few others. I am very very new to fishkeeping and have just one, a male betta named Dee (short for Dorothy Elmo) who lives in a 2.65 gallon filtered tank. He is a petsmart betta. I was told by the "fish people" there that bettas needed a small tank becuase otherwise they would get scared. They convinced me that the 10 gallon tank I wanted to get would be too big and were showing me the "betta tanks" (aka glorified fishy prisons) that held 1/2 gallon of water. Luckily I found a tank that looked nice that came with a filter and gravel that held 2.65 gallons so i bought that one. Anyway, I cant wait to learn more about betta care. :)

Welcome. We have a member here that has about 100 betta's all in their own tanks. She isn't here often, tho, and maybe she'll pop in and you can talk to her about yours.
