Tried it and it wasn't that popular, spinach and carrots attract more attention.

Very strange
When I feed cucumber, after a while you dont see any cucumber any more, only mountains of snails piled on it.
Even my Loricaridae love it.

You just throw some in the tank?
Isn't that - messy?

i put a plant weight through a slice, and wait for snails to cover it, and remove it. I have more trumpet snails than i need, so i remove them sometimes. My shrimp love cucumber tho.

My fish seem to prefer zucchini over cukes, and they seem to be less messy, but the fish still like both.

for my old salt tank i used to use a veggie clip. ( a clip with a suction cup to stick to the tank )
I quit with veggies now since they'll probably just fall somewhere in the tank and rot

I use a veggie clip to hold up a slice of cucumber....my common pleco deovours it!

I had the same problem with cukes but only because I had no veggie clip. It floats and is hard to get to them. I have feed egg yolks (make a mess of the water and heard to wash it under water first) and I've even given my fish watermelon that they LOVE.
...use zucchini...argueably more nutritious...and much easier to muck about with...
Remove after 4 hours for day time feeders...and immediately in the morning for night time feeders...

My goldfish like cucumber and peas. They hated romaine. I would like to try other foods. Any suggestions for my goldfish?

I feed zucchini and cucumber but I remove the seeds of the cuke first. I weigh down the slices by rubber banding them to a small piece of slate. That way it doesn't float all over the place.
For some fish like my oscar, I also feed small pieces of kiwi. I've read alot of articles in mags lately about fish nutrition and the lack of vitamin C in their diets. So if I can get my fish to snag a chunk of kiwi every now and then it's good. I have read of fish taking bits of oranges too but mine won't touch it....
