Hi there:22: , I'm kinda new around this fish (bowfin). I dont kown when do they mature or how long they grow ( well my bowfin currently 17cm long) and the worst part is I cant identify what sex it is and when do they start breeding. Somebody please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused:

I had a little austrailian bowfin. He was only 4 inches when the ICK got him, but the new hampshire record is 8 lbs 13 oz, so i imagine they get over 2.5-3 feet long.

Well since I'm new to this,

20g (freshwater, 2 unidentified sex bowfin)

30g (freshwater, 6 unidentified sex bowfin fry)

Hmmmm. They will pack on the pounds soon. Your going to need a pretty big tank if you plan on keeping them.
