I have a 16 gallon tank and I have one male betta, 7 neon tetras and 3 cory catfish. I had 4 buenos aires tetras but they were biting my bettas fin all the time so I had to remove them from the aquarium. Is there any other fish I can add in there that would go well with my betta? Thnx.

Emerald green corys get larger than other species (theyre actually a bichir) that tank is probably a bit small for them, and they will do better in a larger group (6+). With this in mind, I think your tank is already stocked, but if you find a new home for the emeralds or a bigger tank it will expand your options some.
For reference though bettas will usually do well but most of the small community fish, so long as the betta is added last. The bigger more bumpy tetras I would steer clear of.
This is a question that comes up frequently. Bettas are widely varied in their temperament. Some are just fine in a community and others absolutely will not tolerate company.
As for your stocking, I think you could add 2 more corys and be okay but as Wild Turkey suggested your stocking is already just about done. However given that the neon tetras present a relatively low bioload I think with weekly water changes of 40-50% you'd be okay bumping up that cory school.

Yup the torpedo shaped tetras are more docile and not nippy like the others.I have neon and cardinal tetra in a ten with a betta.Never had an aggression issue.
I have had bettas that will kill everything to be alone in the tank too.
If you have a passive betta than the tetra will do fine.
I tried white skirt tetras and they really picked at the betta.

I just put danios in with my betta in a 20 gallon tank. They're relatively small but getting several for your 10 gallon tank might lead to overcrowding.
The danios seem to get along with the betta, although I read that it's recommended to keep them in schools of at least 6 or they can start to nip fins.

Do you mean Brochis? Bichir/polypterus is a totally different fish from Africa. The emerald green cories are South American.
Besides that I think your thank is stocked, maybe add one or two more green coryies, but that is it. Or better, get a larger tank.

Yup! Sorry I mixed the two words up, doh
Ive found from keeping them they grow larger and are more active than most "corys"
