Today I decided I would not spend another hour trying to catch 6 danio's so I had to think of something ingenious.
Out come my spaghetti strainer for my left hand and in my right held my fish net. Those babies swam right into the sprainer! I will now adopt this formula for my other really fast guys.....loaches and silver dollars and whatever else goes faster than I can.

My wife has a net thingie that opens like an umbrella she uses when we have a barbeque outside to keep insects off the food. It is the same size as the sides of my 63gal tank, so NO fish swims past it. Best thing for small small or fast swimmers!

Good thinking - I have two Danios and two Scissortails that I have been trying to move for about a month. I couldn't even catch them after I took out all the plants and rocks. I swear they were beaming from one side of the tank to the other like on star trek.

Hahaha.
I was going to trade a few zebra danios for some driftwood from a guy.
I spent an hour almost, and couldn't catch 1 danio! I ended up just swinging by petsmart on the way out to meet him and buying a few!

These danio's would have been dead 100 times if I could have caught them. They are the fastest things with fins!

How would you like to work at WalMarts and have to catch these things all day! Months ago I got my two long-finned danio's. I wanted more but the lady gave up!

Hahahah.
When I got my Kuhli Loaches, the guy had at petsmart had a hell of a time, but they try to bury themselves, so they at least stay in one spot for a couple of seconds.
They would literally squeeze between the tiny little space between the tank seperaters, and end up in different tanks.

yup. they're very quick too. in a different way than danios. danios are like the wide receiver of the tank and kuhli's would be like the running backs. lol
wow. i think it's bedtime. lol
Pirhana would then be the linebackers? Red belly Pacus could be the offensive line! I want an Oscar as my QB!

Another tip that i have learned used to catch stubborn fish is to either go from under them and sweep up, or if they are against the glass, put the net behind them and give a gentle tap on the glass. Then they swim right in the net. The guy at the LFS had a customer who needed 12 tiger barbs, he did this trick and netted 'em half a dozen at a time.
