Bala Shark Questions..

Okay, these are some questions I'm aksing for my friend. He has a 20 gallon tank with a fairly large Bala Shark. Are there any other fish he could put in with it?

Your friend will have to re home the bala shark before they could even think of adding anything else. Sorry but that fish needs a 70 gallon tank minimum. Also they are a schooling fish so to be really happy he would need more which means an even bigger tank.

Bala sharks are large schooling fish, they can get about a foot long and should be in schools of at least six. The are nervous, skittish fish if kept in smaller numbers. A tank about five or six feet long would be best.

He only has one Bala right now, and it's a little less than a foot long. I think he may just keep it to that for right now.

The Bala is way to big for that tank. I wouldn't add anymore fish with the Bala in there.

A bala nearly a foot long does not belong in that tank at all. He needs far more than 6 inches of swimming area.

wow, that is unheard of...how that poor thing got up to a foot and survived in that tank is beyond me...balas are my favorite and i had to pass because my tank was just under the mimimum size for these monsters...animal cruelty!

Yeah, that bala needs a new home bad! Does you're friend need a trade? I'd be more than happy to give one of my small Balas for his 1 ft. I have a 150G gallon that he would love. You in CA? Also to answer your question, Balas can go with just about anything.
