Our male swordtail seems to be very lethargic lately, and now while he's pooping, it almost seems like he's pooping himself inside out (hope that makes sense??)....whats happening?

I'm sure I read about this somewhere, but I dont know where! Also our one female is looking a bit more silvery under her chin than she did before (or maybe I've just never noticed)...

Can somone help explain whats happening please!??

that silver means hes getting picked on.

My black shark was silvery in some places, and then i saw the auratus was beating him up so i had to move the shark to a new tank.

As for the inside out thing, no idea

Cocoa, what precisely would the silver under the chin indicate? Bumping/nudging from the "bully" fish? If he were being picked on I would rather think you would see fin nipping?

Could be fungus, as well.

Hmm, true. I guess, as in most cases, the culprit may very well be any of a number of things.

Well the one with the silver is a female, and the main male does rush her quite often (we have 2 females and 2 males - was supposed to be 3 females and 1 male) and the silver does look as if the gold over it has been rubbed off....

Havent checked on them this morning (kinda got to work and got busy with other things *blush*) Will check on them soon and report back!

Ok well his "hernia" seemed to clear up on its own, which I'm very happy for - i googled "fish hernia" and didnt come up with much, and we were at a loss of what to do :(

He's swimming around the tank looking very pleased for himself...so I guess all is well :)
