How would you clean a tank that had a fish with a fungal infection before putting new fish in? I mean like, kill the fungus in the tank, not strip it down and clean it. Would raising the temp work like it does for ich and other parasites? Or do you have to use a fungus killing treatment?

fungus is always there, fish do not have a problem with it until they become sick/injured. just perform regular water change and add your fish as you would normally do.

I would add some fresh carbon to the filter to make sure any meds that were used are removed from the water.
A good water change.Remove all the decor and give it a good scrub.Reset the tank and start cycling, unless its alraedy cycled.
Have you done anything to maintain the cycle?

I agree with Northernguy. Run some carbon for 24-48 hours and do a good sized water change.

fungus meds and then a 48 hour carbon flush, your still gonna get a mini cycle unless there are fish in the tank.. if its empty i'd break it down and restart the tank..
