well i know some people hate having pesky snails ruin their aquarium but i kind of like them. i love seeing them grow from the eggs into adults. but as i recently started school i couldnt handle them all. now when i was "breeding" these snails i would place them in a mason jar and let them do their snail thing, feed em and all that. they were prolific breeders. now this jar has been empty for some time, id say since august or september. u was about to use the jar to transport a dead fish of mine, but lo and behold! i see stuck to the glass dried up snail eggs! my question is this: if i introduce water to the dried up snail eggs, will they hatch or am i wasting time? its all the sane to me i have a friend who works at a local walmart and she will gladly give me some excess baby snails for free i just wanna see if i can bring:help: them back to life... thanks for any info!

I <3 pest snails.. I purposely infect my cray tanks with them, and the crays sit around and eat them like popcorn. :ssmile:

Go ahead and try wetting the eggs, you might be surprised; The guy that own my LFS tried to rid some of his gravel of snail eggs by letting it dry out and sit for a long time, and it didn't work.

Does anyone have good pics of what these eggs look like? Are they always in masses or are they laid individually by some breeds?

they are ususally in batches, and from what ive observed, they arent hard to find as when the snail starts laying them, they lay a lot, and pretty much wherever they please. ull most likely find them right at the water line around there and on plants. so search high for em and trust me ull find em. and to answer the question on the dried of snail eggs, i put some new hitchikers in there aint im assuming they ate them as the dried of eggs dissapeared and they pretty much replaced them within a few days...now my tank is overran with the little buggers....im working on getting rid of them as we speak. and sorry for takin so long to respond, school kinda won the battle for my time...thanks for the advice guys!!!
