View Full Version : Silly question.
Other than water and a squeegee is there a better way to put a background on a tank?

I'm assuming this is a plastic film?
That's the only wayI know of unless you get one of the newer "static" cling ones (press on, peel off).

I just tape mine to the back....
I've heard of some using a thin layer of vaseline, although I've never done it myself. Tape here, too.

You can tape them on, or some you can just stick on.

I painted mine with Krylon Plastic paint after trying Vaseline and cooking oil to get the background to stick, neither method worked for me and was a mess to clean off.
Check in the DIY section under backgrounds to see how others have done it, quite a few recommend this stuff,

I like that Sea View product. May give it a try.
I did think, but havn't tried it yet, that a drop or two of soap would help "wet" the back gound better than just plain water, break that surface fillm and alow it to stick better.
Thanks everyone.
