Okay ive read that Alge eaters can when they get old enough, will stop eating alge. I give him a wafer every night, and now he's not eating them anymore. What should I feed him if he's no longer eating the wafer? He will nibble on my plants though..Any ideas? I heart the little shark like guy and don't want him starving.

Thanks!

He is getting his food from somewhere. The dont eat plants so Id say he is eating algae from them.My cae is over 4yrs old and still eats algae.I dont know what the mythical age for them supposedly to stop is.Ive had several and they all ate algae till the day they died.

Awesome! Thanks. I was a little worried he wasn't eating once I read that he could stop. But I do see him sucking on plants.

I've had him for about a year. When I first got him he was about an 1inch and now hes more like 6 or 7 inches.

He may become trouble in a smaller tank like he is in.They are territorial, keep an eye on him.

He hardly ever goes after the other fish, he actually seems to like AngelFish.
The biggest problem I have with him is that he has moved almost all over the gravel from a corner of the tank. I don't why, I tried moved the gravel back into the location, then he went and just undid it all again.

Can you post a pic?Im not saying he will become trouble, but your tank is small for him at this point.

thats about the best I could get of him. He's usally by that rock unless he's looking around.

But, it is going to need a bigger tank really soon, preferably at least 50 gallons since there's going to be a point where it just starts being aggressive and all.

Very healthy looking. The size tank isnt about his physical size but about his territorial needs. Not to mention the angelfish.

They don't seem to bother each other all that much, in fact they hang out be each other alot. The CAE rarely goes at him. He's been around the fish most of his life. I will watch for it though in case he gets aggressive.

Sounds like a plan.
