If all you are doing is word processing, MS Excel, basic internet, yes, it will work fine. Any kind of gaming.......lol.

Make sure the hard drive and CD rom is compatible with the motherboard. Hopefully you have all the drivers and stuff.

Would it be good for like, watching vidoes like you tube stuff, or playing games from addicting games.com? or were you talking about games like quake, or halo on the computer?

Some of the flash games in addictinggames are very graphics intensive. 650mhz with 128 megs of ram and an integrated graphics card really limits what you can do. Not sure about videos on youtube, but I would imagine they would not play smoothly. And you definitely won't be playing any PC games made in the past 2-3 years. For 35 bucks though....meh

lol.....

Worms series are good games, but the ones coming out will just blow your mind in terms of graphics and realism. I played Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War extensively, and simply cannot go back to crappy graphics games now lol. Starcraft is like....*shudder*

if you feel like joining another forum, i'll suggest you ask this over at [Only Registered Users Can See Links.] :)
its a community much like this one, full of nice people that all get along.

as for that laptop, i'd say you gonna have a hard time finding an optical drive to replace the broken one. and a new hard drive will run you at least $100.

plus i bet it doenst have integrated wifi. and if it does, its only gonna be 802.1b.

a decent laptop is gonna run you in the range of $450 - $900
this one, with repairs is gonna cost you at least another $150.
and probably another $75 for extra ram, coz i know it will need it.
so in my opinion, its not worth the trouble.

i know all you want to use it for is Office and internet, but i'm sure every once in while you'll multitask and try to run software that will be pushing the hardware to its limits.
