yesterday at a fish auction i purchased a 24"x24"x12" tank, its about thirty gallons, it was homemade, and its rare to find a square and low tank like this, now the question is what should i do with it???? i was originally going to use it for coral fraging, but why waste a unique tank on growing coral when i can do that in a rubbermade plastic container. i'm looking for an idea that is truely unique and awesome....
Sounds like the perfect start for a coffee table tank

I second that
That's a cool idea. I'll third the opinion! Not sure what else you could do with such a tank that would be as unique.

yeah so i guess a coffee table it is, i'm thinking i am going to put red neon lighting in and keep only blind and albino cave fish, like a bunch of cave tetras, albino catfish, and blind & albino cave salamander i think this will deffinantly be a conversation piece

Sounds cool, but i would use actinic lighting so you can get that nice dark feeling. also put plenty of rock structures in it. se a peice ofglass for the top, and hey, you got yourself a table! You will be adding pics so we can all drool, right?
Agreed with the actinic lighting. I think the red would look a little off and wouldn't show the true color of the fish. The actinic would really make the fish "pop".

I'd say a planted tank, since 24 inches would allow you great sense of depth to the aquascape.

random question, but how much did you win it for?
I got a 33g with substrate, largest fluval, hood, light, lots of slate, heater, and iron stand for 40$ CDN at a auction.
Square tanks are COOL!

I like some of the low tanks myself. I almost picked up a 20 gallon long the other day but fought myself out of the store.
