View Full Version : Better with one filter or 2?
I am planning yet another aquarium. 38 gallon Molly tank. Question becomes this--do you think I'd be better off with one large filter or two smaller ones? I'm leaning toward 2 smaller ones, Aquaclear 30s, as opposed to one bigger one like an Aquaclear 50. I have found that I needed 2 HOBs on the 40 gallon long to ensure proper water circulation (to ensure no dead areas). Any opinions on this?

IMO, one good filter is enough for a tank of that size. I have the penquin 350 in mine and it works great.
Cocoa, the largest Aquaclear is the 110. You have that in a 33 gallon? Aren't your fish plastered to the walls?
I don't know...mollies aren't dirty fish...so unless you're overstocking, I think you can go either way and be fine...

Nope. The flow isnt that bad on it
Wow, I had this vision of a whirlpool in my head. I was just going to go with the 50, but maybe I'll do the 110 with a sponge prefilter on it.
