Love it!
Are the plants real or fake?

Most of the plants are fake. I'm still trialing plants to see what can survive and what cant.
Java fern is a no go sadly, not the fish killing it, it seems to not like the substrate. Trialling some swords and crypts now

I can tell you now they will munch down anacharis, but with enough lighting it can outgrow the eating.
Hornwort is outright left alone, no interest at all in it.
plus they are both hard to kill in my experiences (survived ich treatment, warm/cold temps, drying out for 3 days, 2 weeks of salt water, and still thriving)
havent tried anything else yet.

My vics are leaving the various swords and anubias alone but they've eaten the vals. Of course they're not as hard on plants as mbuna are either. My mbuna loved anacharis.
Did you leave the rhizome of the java fern exposed? If not, that could be what is killing them.

Most fish enjoy Elodea, not really wanting to go near stem type plants in here though if i can.
The swords seem to be doing ok so far. The crypt only went in yesterday, so will see how it copes. I'm going to try Val next

The java fern was tied to driftwood. It went fully black and disintergrated.
Your tank is very pleasing to the eye! I like to open area in the front of the tank. Very nice!!

Thanks all :)
Crypts and swords appear to be successful growers....so i'll be adding more of them over time

Nice tank. I like the buried/broken pots; adds a nice touch to it.
