Anyone any idea? Most seem to get 8mm long.

looks like the standard pond snail that hitches a ride on live plants.

Well, it's not a native species to this country.

Looks to me like a

Physella acuta, I dont know the english name of that snail, so I gave you the scientif name of it.

And looks to me like you may be right. It's a freshwater species from the Mediterranean area which now can be found in large parts of europe. Best documentation is in German. From what I can understand of this:

They're very good at cleaning algae. Now I hardly have any algae which explains why they reacted like this when I put in a boiled spinach leaf:

Nanaglen......do you know your snails pretty well? I picked up a trapdoor type snail and was just curious as to what it really was so I could find out more about it, if you think you can ID I will post a pic in another thread.

Just give it a try. Even if I dont know your snail, I know people who keep all kind of snails, and they can help to ID it:ezpi_wink1:
