Were you on vacation and your power went out? Did your heater explode? Light fall in and kill your fish?

Everyone has an aquarium disaster story. I have a few. Post them here.

Every year, we go to Oklahoma at least once. We stay for about 4-5 days. My brother (18) doesnt go anymore, because "Oklahoma is full of inbred rednecks!". So he stays home. That leaves my Aquariums home alone for a little less than a week. When i had my 29 gallon aquarium, i had just bout 4 tiger barbs, 5 corys, 1 pleco, a pictus, and a goldfish (keep in mind this was back before i knew better). While we were gone, somthing got my brother really pissed off, so he went into the garage, got two cans of pop, and proceeded to dump the both into my aquarium. When i got back, the water was almost black, and everything was dead. I had to take everything out and start ALL over agian. Needless to say, i taught him a lesson.

Your brother needed his A** kicked, made to clean the mess up and replace all the fish. This is no different than killing your dog while you were gone.

Why would he do such a thing!

His @$$ was kicked fairly decently, but he wouldnt clean, and hes 18 and has never worked a damn day in his life, so he has no money.

He killed your fish? What was he thinking? What did your parents do?

Tell him he's the poster-child for 'redneck'...

He killed your fish?
Yup
What was he thinking?
Dont think he was
What did your parents do?
Lost his car for a week
Tell him he's the poster-child for 'redneck'...
He refuses to do anything that might make him a redneck. He doesnt go outside, he wont go to "redneck" states, and he thinks everyone with a pickup is automatically a redneck

For sure! He needs to hang with the rednecks for awhile so they can "adjust his attitude."

I lived amoungst rednecks for 15 years in FL and I can tell you one thing.....they will help you out in a heartbeat and call 6 of their friends to help you as well. They don't care about driving a fancy sports car or having a big house they can't pay for falling into that "keeping up the the Jones's" but care for their families and friends and most are ol' country gentleman.

My daughter is a redneck since she's been in FL since she was just a kid. They are very good to her and tons of them even come to her house when she had a baby with gifts. Now, how many men take a new mother a gift for their baby?

He says hes concentrating on his grades, which are good, but when he is at home, all he does is sit on his duff and get listen to music on the computer.

HOBBS: I tottally agree with you that they will help you. When we go to oklahoma, that is the best time of the year. We always cook good food, go fishing, work on old cars, ride 4 wheeler, the whole nine yards. I have nothing against them. Some of them are my favorite people!

It's almost uncanny how it works with them. I'd get stuck, call my daughter, my daughter would make a phone call and within half an hour here would come 5 guys to help me out. They put brakes on my car. They fenced in my daughters back yard and they work on her cars......usually free! They helped me move 4 times just by her calling one of them and showed up with their trucks so I didn't have to rent one. They beat the hell out of my daughters boyfriend when he beat her up!

Your brother would do good if he was a redneck, believe me. Matt, now that I've scratched my brain, I think I read of this happening a long time ago here. Maybe about last Oct or so.......I know I hadn't been a member long and remember reading it.

Your folks need to get tough with your brother. No 18 yr old needs to sit on his tail end and do nothing.

Hes going to collage next year, so he is going to try to pull that card, but my mom has been all over him about it.

...you can't know that...you might've had a brother/sister you didn't get along with...or one you REALLY got along with...

I'll tell you, now that my folks have passed away...it would've been great to have someone to reminice with me...as it is...ain't no one to share childhood memories with...

Kinda depressing at times...
