I fell in love with a new pleco. He(?) is a redtail sternella pleco, and he looks GORGEOUS. Has anyone had any experience with these guys? And most importantly, are they aggressive? Because I am planning to grow the little guy out in the 55 with some TBs and a Redtail shark...after he gets big enough he will go with the big boys in the 150...would this work? Thanks, any info is appreciated. :22:

Sound just right to me, the fish you have are quite able to fend for themselves and they are qwick. If the pleco grows up with them I don't think he would bother them. I've never heard of that plc, i'll have to look it up and see what it looks like.thumbs2: thumbs2:

It's also called a Leopard Cactus Pleco.

Most aren't aggressive though common plecos are known for eating whatever they can pin down. The sternelas are wood eaters if memory serves me . I cant be 100% on it though.

From what I've researched they're carnivorous...although I'll throw in a piece of driftwood for him...if I buy him that is.
