I am not planning on getting into the saltwater business any time soon, but I still eventually will go convert into saltwater. And I'm wondering, can a porcupine puffer and some kind of stingray(like a bluespotted maybe?) go together, and if so what size tank would they have to be in? Thanks, just planning ahead for the future. :22:

It would be iffy IMO, puffers are notorious for picking on tank mates. But the ray is also venomous so it may ward the puffer off. If you were to do it, I would temp it in nothing smaller than 180gallons. That ray even a small species is going to definatly need that 6*2' foot print bare bones minimum.

True...I was figuring maybe a 500+ at the minimum though...thanks for the reply MCH.

That tank size estimate was based on a small marine ray for example a california ray which will get a disk size of only about 12" in the home aquarium. If you were dead set on a blue spot ray, you will be looking at a considerably larger tank. They will obtain a disk size of around 24"...you would be looking at a tank no less than 4ft wide and 12ft long to keep a blue spot ray. Thus the arnt realistically suited for most home auariums :22:

I'm not set on one, in fact I'm not sure if I'll go through with this idea lol. I'm just trying to weigh out the SW fish I like and see if they could work together. Thanks again for your reply MCH. :22:
