For those that have had questions sand or gravel, this is just a followup from me.
I converted my Tanganyikan nursery tank from gravel (black) to coral sand (black). Check out the before/after shots :22:
What a difference in visual!!
Not to mention my pH is much better. Now stays in the low - mid 8's.

Very nice! I love the dark substrate but the sand does look nicer than that gravel. You gonna plant the plants?

Once I decide that those are the places I am going to keep them. I usually pot till I make a decision then plant - easier for me thumbs2:
The sand looks flashier. Love the little Calvus too!!!!!! The Gold is my favorite too!

Have noticed a couple of things now that the sand has been in there more than 48 hours;
- The pH has increased to 8.2 - small jump
- The Calvus and Comps appear happier
Add to that a new higher wattage nutri light and the plants are looking better!
thanks for the comments thumbs2:

When you say they look happier, what exactly do you mean? I ask because I have quite a few!

Like the sand better than the gravel, planning on using it in my 75 gallon spring build. Nice pics.
