Quick question for anyone who has a pc light with fans. Do your fans blow air out of the fixture or suck it in? maybe someone can put a hand over thier fans and see if they are blowing hot air or sucking in cold. I opened my gifts and everything on the fixture works but i'm wondering if the fans are wired backwards.

Thanks and Meryy Xmas

Not a mistake, it is more efishiant to suck in cool air, than to blow out hot. Cools the balast system better.

thanks I was about to start dismantling. this light came with brackets that mount on the sides so the light tilts up for tank acess but I have a glass top so I can't mount it without cutting the glass. I'd go topless but some of my fish are acrobats.

I believe the lights with fans are pretty much for canopies, aren't they? I can see no reason for a fan if it's just sitting on top of the tank.

My light has feet and sits on the outside edge of the tank and the glass top sits on the inside lip.

The fans keep it cooler, obviously. I've read it helps extend bulb and ballast life.
