Does anyone else have any cool ideas of where to put fish tanks? My vote goes with my idea of putting one in the wall right infront of the toilet, so i have something to do while im taking care of business. I have also seen a koi pond in the floor, under 1/2" glass under someonse dining room table. We all have are fantasy tank. Spit it out!

A saltwater reef tank made into an entire hallway. The top would be arched, like a cathedral and everything made from thick acrylic for a panoramic view as you walk through it. The top of the tank would have one giant skylight, for natural lighting, as well as metal halides for supplementary + night viewing. I can't even contemplate maintenance on it though, lol.
Or a koi pond that goes inside the house as well. About waist level with a natural "rock" wall with acrylic panels for viewing.

for me, i want a tank in my wall, which i considered once but though i would probably make more of a mess than its worth, and i also wanted a aquarium bathtub.

At the aquarium in Jenks, OK, there is a HUGE shark tank. You can walk under it and its like you are in a bubble under them. It is made of 8-10" acrylic, and is so strong, thats what they use as their tornado shelter. The "substrate" i guess, is shedded shark teeth. Its really cool. If anyone is on their way to oklahoma city, you should check it out, you wont regret it. They even had the 194 (i think) lb oklahoma state record blue catfish!

The 4 foot and 2 foot I recently bought, are the same height, I was thinking of taking the top off by bar which is L shaped and about the right dimensions to sit the tanks on the bar base in an L shape, and place top top back on top of the tanks (it has a padded section between the base and top currently, basically I was thinking of replacing this section with the tanks)

That'd be cool!

My dream tank is not a single tank, but a fish room. Tanks will be suitably sized for the fish that I want to keep in them, too big and I wouldn't be able to see the fish! The only thing I will have to do is feed the fish and clean filters because I will have automatic water changers hooked up to the tanks that siphon out water, then pull water from the tap and treat it then add it slowly.

I have actually seen a fish room like you speak of. My room is on the ground level of our house, and i had to take out the computer/desk and switch to a REALLY small dresser to accomodate my tanks. Hopefully, when I clean out our junk room this summer, i will be able to move downstairs with it all. The room downstairs is twice as big as the one upstairs, and it has almost no sunlight except for the window well (which i can block off), which means i can place tanks virtually everywhere. I cant wait!
