Ok.
I finally feel like my 25 Gallon Tanks is "setup" to my standards...........well........just about.

I snapped a few shots, but I am still having trouble figuring out what settings my camera should be at.

I don't like stupid backgrounds, but I've got one on at the moment.

I am thinking about making a moss wall for the back, I saw a really cool DIY for making them.

Looks good and like Abbeys_mom, I also like the dark on dark. I've never heard of a 25 gallon. 20 and 29 but not 25.

Nice tank!

It'd be cool if you made a larger rock stack on the left of the pic with slate

Awesome tank! I ,too, love the black background/gravel. If you got some SUPER colorful fish, their colors would POP!

Ok.
Maybe it's a 29 gallon. I need to measure it.
I bought it 2nd hand, and the guy told me it was 25

The slate is for my kuhli loaches to have a happy little hiding place.

I have one snail which is GIGANTIC! I love him so much.

I also have a red platy which looks AMAZING in the tank. It REALLY brings his color out. I'm always on the lookout for more fish that are nice and bright because they really do look good against the black.

i used to have a big snail too, one of those african ones that get baseball sized.

I was extremely lucky, and bought a pregnant one, and sold the babies for about 200$. It layed about 100 eggs every 1-2 days for like 6 months.

I think that I read about that on here somewhere...........talk about an investment that paid it's self off!!!

It was awesome. I remember buying the snail, and he, or i guess i should say she, was the only one that was cruising in the tank. I said i'll take that one since for sure its alive.

The only hard part with the snail eggs was removing them. They were pink clumps of eggs above the water line, and i always had to gently pry off the eggs, then take them to stores for a hefty profit. Sometimes, i would slip and break open some eggs, and there was nasty slime in it. eww

Big time eeee[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] busted open eggs!
I just bought a large snail because he looked really cool. Petsuppliesplus couldn't tell me what kind it is, just that they think it is a livebearer since they already had babies in the tank! I wish it was easier to tell snails apart, but let me tell ya, doing some research there are wayyyyyy too many types of snails out there! Since some livebearers don't need partners I don't think, I am hoping this is one since it will make nice crunchie snacks for my puffs. Here is his/her picture

I tried a snail forum and only got one answer......vivicaris(sp), maybe! Oh well, he is cool if nothing else!

Wow Kimmers. He is neat-o.

Willisrad, I just changed the substract in one of my tanks out to the river rock. Altho I like the looks of it, I can see that many things would "disappear" and not be very noticeable. I would never see a snail in the river rock if one was there.

My next tank will be all in black, as well.

my 33g is black. It came with a dark rock background, and black gravel. With all the dull rocks, it looks kinda mopey. I need colorful fish with the severum like cardinals

I like the black rocks alot.
It makes some of my fish really stand out, and it also makes my plant really look nice as well.

I am getting a 75 Gallon tank soon, and I plan on going with something a little more "natural" looking. Honestly, natural looking river rocks or pebbles, and doing a heavily planted tank revolving aroud keeping a puffer happy, or doing a mbuna cichlid tank.
