Ok, so a friend asks me if i want a free 20g aquarium. Said friend has a friend who wants to get rid of it, doesnt want money. questions.

1) Suitable for ANY type of cichlids with sufficient companions?
2) If not, is it suitable for tiger barbs? If so, how many?

FYI: If I did get this aquarium, it would be unplanted, and I would like to take the next step beyond community fish, even tho a school of harlequins would be not be a bad idea...

I do really like kribs...
Dont tiger barbs get like 3 inches? 8-10 wouldnt be too many?

I'm leaning more towards the cichlids, caves i can do, but i dont want to tend to a 3rd planted aquarium, and both these i understand like plants? would fake be ok?

go with fake for cichlids. Most cichlids tend to like to dig up live plants.

You COULD try these cichlids with good filtration, weekly water changes, and NO other fish-

1 convict possibly
1 auratus

20g with cichlids is hard to work with. Once you get to 33g-55g, the options open
