I saw this weird fish in my local pet store.
Well,I really want to know what kind it is. The store is undergoing construction so I won't be able to go inside for a while. A picture of what it looks like is in the link. They are on the Hikari bag of "food sticks" and around it. The pet store guy said that it grows to 4 feet long.

Lol. I think you have me confused with someone else.
Those are silver datnoids (AT, American Tigerfish). One of the more common datnoids in the hobby. I keep 3 different types.

Arowanas are an awesome fish! Quickly one of my favs! 6'x2' footprint minimum after he hits a foot long IMO. BTW, I also keep a datnoid. 7" NGT. I believe we are the only one's on the forum so far keeping them.
My little 20" monster...

Sweet. Mine is out all morning and hides in the evening. Are yours eating pellets? Mine eats everything as long as I feed him in the mornings (along with the aros breakfast).

yes, all of my fish eat pelets. most of my Dats were pellet trained when i got them, but i had to train a few. the NGTs still prefer MP over pellets, but they eat massivore and sinking pellets.
