I dunno what to do...when the goldfish move into the 55g (hopefully ANY second now)...I'll have the 10g available...

I can try and keep it for a quarantine tank...

I can buy a heater and use it for something else...

I've always wanted to experiment with guppies...and I'm also intrigued by the puffers...I can get the fresh water or the brackish water type locally...

Or I can dismantle it...

Yes, keep it. You never know if a fish may need to go in quarantine for illness, if you have a spawn or if you have fish that fight. Good to quarantine new fish too.

...to keep an empty tank running and cycled...I suppose I'll have to add ammonia?

I am kinda sneaky. I have 5 neons in my 10 gallon. When I need it for something else, they come out.

Hobbs is about as sneaky as they come!

You could do what i am doing with my 10 gallon and put a betta and a few corys!

its a good idea to keep the tank.

You can use it as a quarantine/ hospital tank. just add a heater and sponge filter and presto

Yes I could!

But I have bettas and corys in the 25g...if I keep fish in the 10g, I'd want something I don't already have...

Mine is currently sitting empty, as well. I know that with all my PROBLEMS with this slime in my other tank that I will now have another spawn as my angels are back together and making goo-goo eyes at once another. Altho they should have a tank with no gravel or decorations for their spawn, I'm leaving it as it is. I'm not into this for the breeding so not looking to have 300 more. If some of them make it as the tank is now, that's fine. If not........oh well. But I generally always keep a few fish in the tank just to keep a cycle. I was thinking of getting shrimp for it but fish that look like bugs more than fish..........bugs me. LOL

grab a marble shrimp from petsmart. Theyre like 4-5" and very cool

Hobbs, you have more tanks than I do...and you're experimenting more...so I think having a q. tank would be very useful!

I could play with some shrimp...hadn't thought of that...wonder if they'd produce enough ammonia?

I dunno why the marble (bamboo) shrimp are SO expensive...

...but I'd need more than one...and at $15 each, that's a VERY expensive invert. investment...

...as much as my 'roaches were!

Except now I have MANY of them...what an investment! :hmm3grin2orange:

I had no idea they were that expensive, either. As ugly as they are they should be cheap! LOL I get all cranked up when I see neons for $2.50. They are so tiny I think they should be $1.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, you could breed mystery snails in the 10g and sell the stock, or you could breed guppies
